Christian Louboutin Admires Victoria's Attitude

Shoe designer Christian Louboutin recently said that women simply feel sexier in a pair of heels. He said: 'There is an element of seduction in shoes that doesn't exist for men. A woman can be sexy, charming, witty or shy with her shoes. Shoes for men are about elegance or wealth, they are not playing with the inner character. That is why women are happy to wear painful shoes."

Either way, Louboutin, who has been making shoes for 20 years and has sold 600,00 pairs, certainly knows his market. Victoria Beckham continued to wear Louboutins throughout her pregnancy with baby Harper - despite rumors that the designer suffered a slipped disc.

Louboutin said: "Victoria's whole attitude is "Here I am". She doesn't look like a mouse ready to hide. She has a strong sense and active attitude. She is fronting things. She is an actor in her own life. It's why a lot of people love and respect her."

Victoria Beckham Inducted into the Headwear Association Hall of Fame

The Headwear Association (THA) has announced the inductees for the 2012 Hall of Fame. This year's honors go to Lady Gaga, Victoria Beckham, LL Cool J and Kid Rock. Marlene Dietrich and Fred Astaire will be inducted posthumously.

Each year THA annually recognizes stylish individuals renowned for wearing hats. The six chosen to be inducted into the Headwear Hall of Fame are all known for frequently wearing hats and have all had a positive impact on the evolution and popularity of headwear fashions.

Victoria Beckham's chic fashion choices are often topped with a hat. Her choices run the gamut from chic military caps and dramatic fedoras to artful Philip Treacy creations. Her royal wedding hat put her on numerous best dressed lists. Beckham also takes her love of hats to her own runways - repeatedly showing hats with her signature Victoria Beckham Collection.

Congratulations Victoria!

Victoria & Kate Middleton Have Similar Taste in Fashion

Kate Middleton and Victoria Beckham are friends that have similar fashion preferences, with one focusing on a conservative flair while the other goes for glamorous and sexy.

Their British nationality, fame and friendship aren't just the only things Kate Middleton and Victoria Beckham share. The two famed icons seem to have similar taste in fashion, only differing on how they present their looks. The Duchess of Cambridge has a regal, royal style - with spectator hats, perfectly blow-dried hair, and a huge smile to always complement her look. On the other hand, Victoria Beckham is known for her edgy designer style, with cuts and silhouettes that usually command the trends of today.

Despite having different takes on how they lay out their looks, the two have numerous similar outfits that seem like they had it made to follow their personality. One perfect example is the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen evening wedding dress the Duchess wore that had a fur bolero to cover her up. The "posh" version is a white skin-tight satin dress in an event, which had fur details on its back.

Another style signature they share is their choices of colors. No one can forget the light yellow dress Kate wore during the Royal Couple's North American tour, and it had the same hue as Victoria Beckham's dress she wore for the 2008 ESPY Awards. When dressing down, Kate is known to adore boots, pastels and shades, the same kind of comfortable clothing Victoria is known to don.

Victoria Beckham at ASOS.com??

No, no, no, don’t get too excited. Posh is not designing for ASOS, but the British mega store has created a line of dresses that are exact, yes exact, replicas of Ms. Beckham’s threads. I mean, is this legal?

Some of Posh’s most classic looks are duplicated in amazingly chic color choices at ridiculously reasonable prices. The simple lines, the modern edge, the subtle femininity-it’s all there.

My personal favorite is the Ponti Pencil Dress in Empress Purple but then again, there is the Peplum Pencil Dress that is also TDF. How does one choose when the wardrobe of fashion royalty is at our fingertips?

These dresses are investment pieces, without the major investment. They can go from office to drinks, wedding to upscale date night. Or if you are really in the Posh kind of mood, you can wear them on the airplane with your three (almost four!) kids in tow with 4 inch heels…bring it!

The possibilities for these dresses are endless. The best part is, the sophisticated lines in classic colors make these dresses timeless. This will be your go-to dress for all occasions, time and time again.

ASOS even has a “Victoria Beckham” tab that allows you to search all of her looks and even some similar accessories. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel, you just can’t miss. Take your pick ladies, effortless style is at your fingertips!

Victoria Dresses Up for a Day at the Field

Here is just one example of why Victoria Beckham has been not only my one and only role model and style icon over the past fifteen years... she's not affraid to look amazing and wear whatever she wants - no matter where that is.

Case in point, she spent time this weekend with her boys at a field/park where the boys practiced their soccer skills. Now "normal" park attire for most people usually consists of jeans, a simple T-shirt, and either flip flops or sneakers.... for Victoria's fabulous self, she insisted on black leggings, a flowing top, and sky high Louboutin boots. Love it!

Victoria... you're just too fabulous - one of the many reasons why we all adore you so much!

Patricia Field Praises Victoria Beckham's Style

'Sex and the City' stylist Patricia Field has praised Victoria Beckham's style credentials.

Victoria Beckham "owns her style" according to costume designer Patricia Field.

The 'Sex and the City' stylist thinks some people get too serious about fashion but praises Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria for her attitude to clothes and believes she gets it right every time.

She told People.com: "My hint to all is, enjoy it! Don't be too serious about it. Choose what you like - and don't get distracted by what's trendy or what your friends like. Express yourself and you will own it."

"Victoria Beckham an example of someone who owns her style. Style is like a flag. When we see red, white and blue we think America. When we see Victoria Beckham, we immediately associate her style with her. To repeat . she owns it!"

Patricia has previously compared Victoria to Lady Gaga, saying the pair have a "similar" approach to fashion.

She said: "They're both very different in style and yet very similar. Lady Gaga is a pop star personified. Like Madonna before her, she has fun with her fashion and it's all very showy and tongue in cheek.

"In the same way, Victoria's created her own look that's very glamorous. She definitely has her own way of putting outfits together that other people try to copy. They're very different as style icons, but individually both very stylish in their own right."

Maternity Chic... So Far...

When Victoria announced she was pregnant, the majority of us were extremely excited and not just because there will be yet another gorgeous Beckham baby in the world (the most obvious reason), but also because we were excited to see what Victoria's fourth time maternity style would be like.

So far, I have not been disappointed! In my opinion, she is the most stylish woman on the planet and even in pregnancy, she still reigns supreme. Yes, she's very into blazers and billowy tops right now, but who else is rocking thigh high boots with chains in the back, towering Louboutin platforms, or waxy denim with spikes along with their baby bump?

Victoria Beckham in VB - InStyle Look of the Day

Even though I wasn't a big fan of Victoria's British Fashion Awards look, those at InStyle magazine sure loved it because they nominated her in her self designed dress for a "Look of the Day" this week.

I'm sorry but the hair really ruins this look for me. The more I see it the more I cringe.

24 Hour Trend Alert: Thigh-High Slits

Courtesy of People.com:

It seems that thigh’s the limit these days! In a span of 24 hours, at three very different fêtes, Carrie Underwood, Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham dared to bare in the same revealing silhouette. Playing by the rules in Sin City, the country singer flashed her sinewy gams in a scarlet red beaded Edition by Georges Chakra gown, Coomi earrings and a metallic clutch and heels by Rene Caovilla at Monday’s American Country Awards. That same night in N.Y.C., Angelina flashed some leg in a winter white Atelier Versace wrap dress that highlighted her limbs and ample décolletage. The following evening, across the pond, Designer Brand of the Year nominee, Beckham, left little to the imagination in a slitted kimono gown of her design at the British Fashion Awards. We say, if you’ve got it flaunt it.

Kelly Hoppen Praises Victoria Beckham's Take On Fashion

Victoria Beckham amazed good friend Kelly Hoppen with her unique take on fashion by customising a loungewear top the interior designer had given her from her new clothing collection.

"Victoria didn't help me with the designs, but when I gave her some in the summer, it was quite funny because she put one top on inside out and I went you've got it on inside out and she said, 'Yeah, I did on purpose.' And I was like, 'Well, actually it looks quite cool.' She put her own twist on it. But that's why she's so stylish, never afraid to try out different looks, and she always looks great."

Style Inspiration: Dinner at Claridges Meets Fashion Week

As I was looking at photos of the Clardiges dinner from a few nights ago, I couldn't help but think that both Tana and Louise drew a bit of style inspiration from Victoria's looks during Fashion Week when choosing their outfits. For example, Tana's black leather pants, Louboutins, white top, and blazer ensemble reminded me a lot of Victoria's outfit she wore to The View back in September. Louise's outfit, particularly her shirt, brings back memories of Victoria's rocker chic Isabel Marant look for dinner after her spring 2011 presentation.

Kim Kardashian Praises Victoria Beckham and Follows in her Footsteps

Reality TV starlet Kim Kardashian loves Victoria Beckham's dresses. She said she often struggles to find outfits which flatter her curvaceous figure, but that VB's dresses are ideal for her shapely behind and busty frame.

"Victoria Beckham's totally my style icon. I wear her dresses constantly. There are some clothes out there I just can’t wear because of my body type. I definitely can’t wear short shorts! They’re not flattering! I also can’t wear anything too baggy, because being busty on top, looser fitting dresses almost make me look pregnant. I need to wear more fitted outfits. That’s why I love Victoria’s dresses so much - because they are so fitted and flattering for my body. I wear them all the time. I was so exited when Victoria Tweeted me. I’ve met her once. We have some friends in common, she’s very sweet.”

I don't know about you all but I only remember her in one VB dress... the black one photographed here that she wore to the InStyle party a few months ago.

Anyway, in other related news, it has been reported that Kim is following closely in Victoria's footsteps as far as Hermes bags are concerned. If you recall I did a post where I compared VB to KK and how I feel that Kim is often inspired by her and it looks like Victoria's Hermes collection is one of the main sources of inspiration.

It has been reported this week that while enjoying Europe with her mother, the duo stopped off in Paris where Kim dropped over $100,000 in an Hermes store. Apparently she bought 6 $10,000 Birkin bags and spent a whopping $30,000 on the orange over sized Kelly photographed above. Must be nice to be famous for no real reason and be getting paid astronomical amounts of money for it!

Victoria Beckham: Is She For Real?

Courtesy of The New York Times
By: RUTH LA FERLA

VICTORIA BECKHAM talks the talk. Guiding a visitor through her fall 2010 collection, spread on a rack in her studio in Battersea, she draws out a dress recently worn by Cameron Diaz, identifying its fabric authoritatively as a metallic jacquard. Another, shapely and lavishly draped, is underpinned by domette wadding, she says, to hold its folds in place. Still another, crisp as corn flakes, was made of gazar. “Gazar, I love it,” Ms. Beckham murmurs, savoring the term like a vintage Bordeaux.

A quick study, she has mastered the argot of the cutting room with the same alacrity that has marked all her most ardent pursuits — the voice and music lessons that laid the foundations for her career as the pop idol known as Posh Spice; her marriage to the British soccer star David Beckham, an exercise in family branding; her wardrobe, engineered to show off her whippet frame and improbably lusty chest.

“I don’t do anything by halves,” she says, an edge in her voice. “If you’re going to do something, do it properly, I think. Otherwise there is no point in doing it at all.” ...

That resolve has paid off handsomely. In recent months Ms. Beckham, she of the contorted public poses, racy aphorisms and fleeting television career, has emerged as an industry force, the wily maverick of New York Fashion Week.

Written off not so long ago as a pneumatic Barbie of the hinterlands, Ms. Beckham has been a fixture in the front row at presentations like those of Chanel and Marc Jacobs. Her sinuously curvy cocktail dresses have been worn by Jennifer Lopez, Drew Barrymore and Ms. Diaz and are showcased in stores alongside luxury labels like Narciso Rodriguez and Vera Wang. “Don’t underestimate her,” said Anna Wintour, among the many editors and retailers who have embraced her, pointing out that Ms. Beckham has managed, in a scant four seasons, to shed her dubious standing as the girl least likely to succeed.

“She’s growing up,” said Ken Downing, the fashion director of Neiman Marcus, and an early advocate of Ms. Beckham’s designs. “Her knowledge of dressmaking is impressive. She understands how to bring out the best in the female form, and that’s one reason our clients are drawn to what she does.” As important, he said, “She knows how good clothes feel when they’re on. Because she has worn them.”

Morgan Freeman's Beckham Praise

Morgan Freeman credits David Beckham with making men's fashion popular to the mass market because the soccer star has made it more acceptable for males to take pride in their appearance.

The Oscar-winning actor says the soccer star has made it acceptable for males to start taking pride in their appearance and think about what they're wearing.

He said: "Before, men's fashion was for social things, for gays, for eccentrics, for weirdos; it was small market. David was the start: a hot straight, family man with kids. He was such a big star and he gave the possibility to be fashionable to millions. He made it possible for men to approach fashion without fear. Men felt, if he can do it, I can."
