Celebrities in VB: Tamara Mellon in Victoria Beckham Fall 2010

Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo was photographed for Harper's Bazaar magazine wearing the red drape neck shift dress, #59, from Victoria's fall 2010 collection. She looked fabulous and I really like how her peep-toe boots work with the piece... they give a rather elegant dress a rocker edge!

The Galaxy is Heading to Australia

The Newcastle Jets have confirmed they have lured David Beckham and his LA Galaxy team to the Hunter for a one-off friendly next month. The Jets will host the Galaxy at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Nov. 27 at 7.30pm. The match is expected to attract 23,000 fans and bring more than $1 million to the economy.

Also, the Australian team sponsors are offering a 'Money Becks guarantee', telling Beckham fans they will refund their money if the international star is unable to play for physical or personal reasons.

Who Wore it Better: Victoria or Kim Kardashian?

These Christian Louboutin Altaboutin boots are one of my favorites from his fall 2010 collection. Typically, when I lust after a pair of shoes, as time goes by, they always pop up on Victoria. She was the first celebrity, that I can recall anyway, to wear these out and several, including Miley Cyrus and Christina Aguilera, soon followed.

Since then, of course Kim Kardashian has been spotted wearing them (honestly it seems like Kim is more or less style stalking VB lately). She wore them yesterday while out to lunch with Ciara in NYC.

So who wore them better? For me, even though I'm not a huge fan of cut-offs and boots, Victoria wins this hands down. It's too much leather on leather with Kim.

Celebrities in VB: Rosario Dawson & Kim Kardashian in Victoria Beckham Fall 2010

Actress Rosario Dawson presented the award for "Best Fantasy Moive" onstage during Spike TV's "Scream 2010" at The Greek Theatre on October 16th in LA wearing a cream colored verison of the Fold Neck Fitted dress, #60, with Brian Atwood pumps. In my opinion, Rosario looks wonderful in the dress - it fit her perfectly and the color was perfection against her olive skin tone.

And it looks like Kim Kardashian bought that dress she taunted us with on her Twitter account. The TV personality wore the same dress (but in black) with black Brian Atwood pumps to The Ultimate Engagement Ring Search for The World's Best Couple launch at Brasserie Ruhlmann in New York City on October 18th. Unlike Rosario, I think Kim should've went with the next size up because it literally looks like she struggled to get it zipped - specifically if you look at the side shot. And I'm not saying that to be mean... those of you who are regular readers know that I've actually been appreciating Kim's style a bit more these days. I understand Victoria's designs are well known for their curve hugging silhouettes, but if Kim would've gotten this dress to properly fit her, I think this would've been a really great look.

Victoria's Rep Hits Back at PETA

A representative for Victoria has defended the star after her new handbag collection came under fire from PETA.

The animal rights group is fuming over Beckham's latest collection, which features purses made from crocodile and lizard skin, as well as calf leather. But a spokeswoman for the star has brushed off the criticism, insisting the accessories adhere to strict guidelines in the production process.

The rep says, "Everyone is entitled to personal opinion and choice, but as with all Victoria Beckham products, the handbags are made to the highest quality and design. These skins sit strictly within the CITES regulations, and are monitored at every step of production. The skins are farmed in America under very tight guidelines."

Celebrities in VB: Dannii Minogue in Victoria Beckham Fall 2010

There was a rumor that Victoria Beckham was going to be styling Dannii Minogue on the X Factor this year and it looks like it wasn't completely false. The past two weeks, Dannii has been spotted wearing two VB designs from the fall 2010 collection.

Last week she wore Victoria's Oscar dress, the asymmetrical column dress with corset, and this week it was the drape back dress with Victoria's favorite Brian Atwood Drama pumps. I think both times Dannii looked absolutely incredible!

VB's Faves: Green Roberto Cavalli Pants

We all fell in love with these green Roberto Cavalli pants the first time Victoria wore them back in March on her at the airport. She wore them with a black blazer, gray tank, nude Brian Atwood pumps, and Ray Ban sunglasses. VB wore the pants again on Friday to Matsushia restaurant with her hubby and Dana Ramsay. This time she wore them with a black tank, scarf, Hermes bag, and black Brian Atwood pumps.

We are used to seeing the Beckhams driving around in cars worth more than some people's homes but that was not the case last week when Mr. Beckham and his wife went to dinner with pal Eva Longoria at Osteria Mozza in a brand new silver Chevy Camaro SS! Unlike most of their cars, this one is actually affordable with an SS base price of about $35-40,000. Compared to Bentleys and Phantoms... that's a steal!

PETA Problem?

PETA has denied that it's planning to attack Victoria Beckham, after rumours that it was angered by the star's new animal skin handbags.

The Daily Mirror reports this morning that the animal rights group planned to douse Beckham in "a bucket of animal blood - cow or lizard - at her next UK public appearance". However, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), told us that - while these rumours are unfounded - it had sent the singer-turned-designer a video to persuade her against using animal skins.

"We don't believe that Victoria has chosen to ignore the plight of these animals, we just worry that the information didn't make its way to her," a spokesperson from PETA tells us. "No one with an ounce of compassion could watch PETA's footage and still promote exotic skins as accessories. With all of the luxurious, cruelty-free alternatives at her disposal, there is simply no need or excuse for Victoria to include any skins in her collection."

Celebrities in VB: Florence Welch in Victoria Beckham Fall 2010

It's taken months for someone to finally wear the drape floorlength dress, #71, from Victoria's fall 2010 collection and Florence Welch was the one to make its debut when she wore it to perform on Dancing with the Stars. She performed with her band Florence + The Machine. They did an acoustic version of her hit song "Dog Days Are Over" live on the show while the dancers floated all around them.

The Beckhams Watch the NHL

On the 15th, David, Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz were all ringside for the NHL's LA Kings game. The Beckham boys looked very happy and seemed to be having a great time chatting with spectators in neighboring seats. But judging from this photo, Lady Beckham looks like she has other things on her mind.

The Beckham Boys Wear Personalized Hats

By now we all know that the entire Beckham bunch loves personalized/monogramed items - everything from soccer cleats, car accessories, and even Hermes bags have been eteched with their famous names and or initials.

For example, at the Galaxy vs Colorado Rapids game, the youngest boys, Romeo and Cruz, both wore personalized hats with their names on them. Romeo's simply said his name whereas Cruz's said "Cruz-Control" which I think is adorable!

Also in the stands was mom Victoria. The entire family was there to lend their support but unfortunately the Galaxy was defeated by the Rapids with a final score of 3-1.

Clothes Call: Marie Claire US - November 2010

This Bottega Veneta ensemble is my favorite of them all! I love it! It reminds me of summer time on a yacht! I also really like how they modified Victoria's dress from the runway - they shortened the hemline and gave it a brand new belt. I also adore her hairstyle and how they kept the accessories minimal!

This Bordelle fall 2010 bustier dress was paired with a Giambattista Valli resort 2011 animal print jacket, an Hermes scarf, Alaia heels, and VB sunglasses.

Also paired with the same Hermes scarf, VB sunglasses, and Snooki-like poof was this Jean Paul Gaultier resort 2011 coat, and killer spiked Louboutins!

This Monique Lhuillier resort 2011 cranberry colored gown is exquisite! I love how it fit Victoria perfectly without making her look extremely thin. The added belt was a nice touch as were the sparkling Louboutins - I could've done with out the swim cap type hat though.

Ever since she became a dress designer, not one photo shoot of hers has not included a VB piece. This trench dress from her fall 2010 collection was paired with self designed sunglasses, Brian Atwood heels, chunky jewelry, and a large fan.

My second favorite ensemble was not included in the shoot but I just had to add it to this list because I've been patiently waiting for Victoria to wear a blue piece from her fall 2010 collection and she did just that in this column dress. Love it, love it, love it - so sad it wasn't in the magazine!

Here are some snippets from Marie Claire magazine's web exclusive with Victoria Beckham...

Kevin Sessums (KS): Do you look back at “Posh Spice” and see her as another of your children at this point? Is she the daughter you haven’t had yet?

Victoria Beckham (VB): I do look back and am grateful for what I achieved and for those girls in my life. But people are referring less and less to that time and it feels good. I think I’ve finally made the transition—I am now going into my sixth season as a designer—and all that feels like a hundred years ago. But the Spice Girls do seem to live on and on. Maybe that’s because we had a political message that still reverberates. Girl power. Strong women.

KS: Jennifer Lopez is one of your best friends and Simon Fuller, who is your business partner in your fashion business, is the creator of American Idol. Were you instrumental in getting JLo her new job as a judge this season?

VB: Simon did ask me about her, if I knew her. But, no, I had nothing to do with all that.

KS: Do you miss the adulation of your Spice Girl days?

VB: God no. People I respect complimenting me on my work in fashion is more exciting to me than anything I ever achieved as a Spice Girl. I am now competing in an arena where I can hold my head high. I feel quite confident in what I'm doing now , much more than the singing. I was never going to give Mariah Carey any competition.

KS: Well, you’ve got the fashion world pretty much covered then. Seriously, you’ve really hung in there and proved yourself as someone deserving to be considered a designer. Your status as a celebrity enabled you to get your name on a label, no doubt, but that same status can cause others to treat you as a kind of joke.

VB: I have always loved fashion since I was a kid and customized my school uniforms. This line has been a lifetime in the making. But more than anyone, I am aware of the preconceptions. I was a Spice Girl. I’m married to a footballer. I completely get it.

Marc Jacobs once told me something I’ve always lived by. I asked him who he considered his competition. ‘I don’t have competition,’ he told me. ‘My competition is myself from the season before.’ I’ll admit it: I’m a control freak. I am. If I’m going to do something I’m going to do it 110% or there’s no point in doing it at all, especially if the work takes me away from time with my husband and children. I’m finally just doing what I like. I put the clothes on and I look in the mirror and I think, would I wear this? I’m not worried about what’s in fashion, what’s not in fashion, what are the colors of the season. I go with my gut instinct because every time I haven’t it’s been a mistake. I can live with my own mistakes. I can’t live with anybody else’s.

KS: How has being a mother changed you?

VB: Hmm .... well, you know when you get a TV you get a manual? Well, there isn’t one for motherhood. I’m constantly trying to figure it out and questioning whether I’m doing it right. But I’m so proud my kids. They are very well-mannered. We’ve always been very strict with the kids. That’s the way David and myself were brought up. But they’re free spirits as well. They laugh. They joke. They have fantastic personalities. I love hanging out with them.

The other day we got up early to have breakfast and I was teaching them about American money. I had Post-Its on all the breakfast cereal. On the bread. On the milk. I got a box of fake money from Toys’R’Us. ‘All right,’ I told them at 6 a.m. ‘We’re going to learn about American money. I’m going to make you buy your breakfast.’ I hand them all a bit of the money. They were all just waking up and going, ‘Mum, we just want our Coco Puffs.’ And I’m going, ‘Coco Puffs! Cost one dollar twenty!’

KS: Any secrets to looking this good? Any plastic surgeon numbers you’d like to share?

VB: I take care of myself. I work out every day. I eat healthy. But I like to have fun too. I’m not going to say no to a glass of wine, let’s put it that way. But God! People in this business are obsessed with youth. I can understand it when you constantly see pictures of yourself in the press. But I do seem to be the only person I know who is getting older. Most famous people get younger and younger. I sometimes ask myself that question: ‘How come I’m the only person who’s getting older?’ But I’m cool with that. I read once that elegance is a privilege of age. I thought, that’s so true. You get more comfortable with yourself as you get older.
